Wrapping Up Christmas

Pun intended. This has been a great season with family. We have been able to spend a lot of good times with family on both sides. We have seen family go the extra mile or few hundred miles to make this Christmas special. For that I'm thankful.

As we finish this year with a new year facing us Im more hopeful than I've been in a long time. I'm much better off than I was this time last year and I truly believe I'm a better person, for that Im grateful. It also marks a noticeable victory in my life. I've not ranted about santa this year though my thoughts remain, I've not over-emphasized that Christmas was once illegal in our country or displayed any other scrooge-like characteristics. It has been a good year and I joyfully hold my head up with great expectations for this year.

Deep thought (for all my old xanga friends) - if the story of a cow jumping over the moon is from1700's and if it were true.Would that make NASA man's way of trying to catch up to the progress of an animal that is now just a burger.

Christmas For Jacey

Today is Christmas morning for Jacey which means I was up until 4 this morning putting together a kitchen. Then I waited to see her reaction. It needed to be great because Jess has been waiting to give this to her for a month. The moment came and Jacey was very surprirsed. I am not sure she knew how important it was to be surprised but thankfully we won't deal with the fallout of her running pass the kitchen, that took hours together, and grabbing some random present. I might have broke something and Jess would have been in tears... that's the Christmas spirit right. But all in all it has been amazing already. We have cooked eggs cupcakes and so much more. These are truly special times! It brings back the memories of how fun it is to see those new gifts on Christmas morning but the most important thing is to remember that it was a gift that still surprises me today, that is the reason for Christmas(even if it is the wrong time of the year) The gift of salvation and forgiveness of sins. Every time I stop to pray for something I have done wrong or some need I am surprised again that Jesus listens and my eyes light up again knowing what is given to me day after day. It's not 365 days TO Christmas next year. It's 365 days OF Christmas for those who accept the real gift meant to be opened day after day.

This has been a good Christmas season for me and for those who know my seemingly endless soapboxes concerning Christmas, you know that is a big thing.

Precious Moments

Life can throw a lot of things at you. Sometimes it is frustrating but often it is simply a matter of choice that makes the difference between a precious moment and frustration. Take the fact that I am writing this at 4 in the morning. My little girl just woke up. But as I went to check on her and she complained because she wasn't going into mommy and daddy's bed, I had a choice. She looked at me and said "hold you". She obviously wasn't wanting to pick up her much larger dad but the other way around. While I cuddled her close warming her up because she had kicked her covers off, I realized this wasn't a frustration but a sweet moment that one day I will look back and long for. As she fell asleep in my arms I couldn't help but be thankful that I was awake right now. And you can be thankful that I shared this with you by typing while it was fresh on my mind instead of calling.

Crazy Stuff

I am sitting here with my phone that now has a blogger app ok it. Today we are going to my parents house and we will celebrate christmas and pops birthday. It almost felt like Christmas was over because the Christmas productions were over. This is a great reminder that there are good times with family and friends still to be had.

iPhone thoughts

I wonder what this world will be like in ten more years. I am typing a blog from a phone. I flipped a coin earlier and used my phone to look for an app before finding an actual coin. The implications go on and on. But on another note I found a manly way for a gift to be wrapped. Wrapped in bubble wrap with a duct tape bow. Yes pictures coming soon.
